mail deze pagina print deze pagina

The Comprehensive Cancer Centre Rotterdam (CCCR or in Dutch IKR) is a knowledge centre, which maintains an extensive network and fulfils a coordinating function within the field of oncology in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. Within its network, organisations involved in the care for patients with cancer, work closely together. The CCCR itself does not treat patients.

The purpose of the CCCR is to provide cancer patients and their families access to comprehensive and high-quality care as close to home as possible. Comprehensive care involves medical, psychosocial and nursing care.

The CCCR supports:

  • the dissemination of knowledge about diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with cancer;
  • the cooperation between the health care specialists involved;
  • better organisation of oncological care.

In this way the CCCR contributes to an improvement of the quality of life for patients with cancer and their families.

The IKR is a foundation and is mainly financed by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, through contributions from all hospitals in the region.
